Congratulatory Programs

Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center Black Congratulatory Ceremony

The Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center will host a formal congratulatory ceremony for all graduating African American students. The ceremony will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, in 100 George Huff Hall, 1206 South Fourth Street, Champaign. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and academic attire is required for student participants. For students desiring to participate open registration is from January 23, 2019 through April 1, 2019 and costs $65. Tri-Service ROTC Commissioning Ceremony

The Military Education Council will host a Tri-Service ROTC Commissioning Ceremony from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 13, in the Foellinger Auditorium, 709 South Mathews, Urbana. La Casa Cultural Latina/Latino Congratulatory Program

La Casa Cultural Latina will host a formal Latina/Latino Congratulatory Program from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, in the Foellinger Great Hall at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 South Goodwin Avenue, Urbana. Registration takes place online at and the cost is $60 to be paid at La Casa Cultural Latina via cash or check. Native American House Congratulatory Program

The Native American House will host a congratulatory program for all Native American graduates. The program will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Illini Union, rooms A, B, and C. Advanced registration is required by April 6 at https://oiir.illinois.edy/native-american-house/nah-events/congratulatory-ceremony. Other Activities

President's and Chancellor's Reception

The President and Chancellor extend a cordial invitation to all graduates, candidates and their families to a reception on Saturday, May 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The President's House, 711 West Florida Avenue, Urbana. Academic attire is encouraged. Shuttle transportation will be available from Memorial Stadium to The President's House.

University Library

The first floor of the Main Library is open from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, and Sunday, May 12 for visitors and students to view the University Honors Bronze Tablets.
