Accessibility Information
University-wide Commencement Ceremony
ADA parking is in the Northwest State Farm Center lot, 20 yards across Kirby Avenue from the stadium entrance. Golf cart shuttles will route through the State Farm Center parking lots to Memorial Stadium. Guests requiring special assistance should enter Memorial Stadium at Gate 24.
Inside the stadium, an usher will direct you to the designated accessible seating area. Graduates who require special assistance to fully participate in Commencement events may contact the Committee on Commencement at (217) 333-8834 or email the Commencement Office.
Please note the university does not have wheelchair rental available. For guest accessibility needs, including the location of a lactation room, reflection space and stroller parking, visit the Guest Services table in Memorial Stadium’s Great West Hall.
Sign language interpretation will be provided on stage as well as near Section 127 at the universitywide ceremony. Hearing-impaired students should sit as close to the stage as possible within their designated section on the field. Guests should let an usher know they need seating in Section 127 to improve visibility of the sign language interpreter. CART services will also be provided during the ceremony. Visit the Guest Services table in Memorial Stadium’s Great West Hall for listening device information.
Captioning will be available on screens at Memorial Stadium and available in English and Spanish on your device.
As a service to parents with small children who may become restless during the two-hour Commencement, the ceremony will be televised in the Great West Hall of the stadium.
Please call the Committee on Commencement at (217) 333-8834 if additional accommodations need to be made.
